Reading is an Investment!

We have been quite busy during the months of January and February! Out of the ten Red Clover books chosen for this school year, we have two left to share during the month of March. Every student will have a chance to vote for their favorite book the last week of March. We have learned about and observed elephant seals, read about a boys' heroic journey to help others following a blizzard, shared a story from a character's point of view, and discovered how to use picture clues to help us understand and read text. We made connections between Charles Lindbergh and the tale of a flying mouse. We have written "mad lib" stories from our point of view and learned about what makes a plane fly.
As students participate in these activities and other choices in our library space, we have come to an important date. Reading is an Investment reading logs are due! Reading logs that went home in November can be mailed by you or, if you wish, I can mail them to the State Financial Office. I will be mailing the reading logs turned into me on Friday March 11, 2016. These Reading is an Investment reading logs should be sent to the PPS library no later than Thursday March 10, 2016.  There are more reading logs in the green bin in the library. Feel free to pick up another reading log, if needed. Turn in your log to enter the drawing for a $250 savings bond for college!
      Happy Reading!
